If you don't have a coupon, don't buy it.
This doesn't mean you have to get it for free, although that is nice. It simply means that you should always be looking for an opportunity to save money.
There are some things I HAVE to buy. But I will look for the best deal, and I happy if I find a coupon for even .25 off.
