Let me start by saying that it took me forever to get to Food Lion Saturday night. I checked on line to see what time the closest Food Lion closed and the website said 11pm. I got to the store at 10:15 and the store was dark. I drove in the direction of two other stores, both of which were closed. Then I turned around and drove in the opposite direction and finally found a Food Lion that was open. It was about 10:30 by this point.
I had 3 $1/1 coupons for Ore Ida sweet potato fries. They were sold out the last time I tried to use them. Food Lion has Ore Ida B2GO free. Regular price $2.99. I bought 3 (full price - $8.97) and got 1 free (with discount - $5.98) and got $3 off (final price - $2.98) 3 bags for less than the price of 1. I like that.
And I had the fries for lunch Sunday and they were good.
Now the problem...
There were tampons on sale for $2.88. I had a digital coupon for $1/1 or $2/1, each for a different kind. At $1.88 or $0.88, you can't beat that. I got the box that I had the $2/1 and the label on the shelf said $2.88.
I looked over my receipt as I walked to my car and noticed that the tampons rung up $4.50 (ish). No MVP discount.
I almost got in my car and went on my way, telling myself that I had to have tampons and I should just forget about it. Then I told myself, poo on that, it's your money and you just paid too much. Put on your big girl pants and go straighten this out.
I went back and explained to this high school boy that my tampons rung up wrong and take him back to the aisle and show him exactly what I was talking about. Then he has to call the manager (man) and I had to explain the incorrectly priced tampons to him. Good thing I don't get embarassed easily.
Oh, he gave me my money back.
